I love the fact that we serve a God that delights in new beginnings. Without a doubt, God loves new beginnings. Just like the change in seasons, we too can change because of God’s love. Moreover, God’s word is filled with scriptures about starting a new thing.
What does the Bible Say about New Beginnings?
The Bible is filled with comforting words about leaving the past behind and pressing on towards the goals. As we walk gracefully into a fresh start we must remember to leave the old stuff behind. Transitioning to the new things in life includes walking away from those things from our past.
While it may seem difficult at first, we must understand that we serve a mighty God that has plenty to say about starting over.
Bible verses about new beginnings
God spoke to the people of Israel through the prophet Isaiah in the Old Testament and the overwhelming theme is a fresh start, a new beginning. He was foretelling the promise of the Messiah. In other words, there was hope for those of Israel and for us.
God comforts them through the prophet Isaiah with words like new and wiping out and the best words of all “ I will not remember your sins.”.
What a comfort to know that our God is big enough to forget!
Can you feel the burden being lifted from your soul?
If God tells you to forget about it, you need to forget about it, because new beginnings are his specialty! Only a mighty God can make a road in the wilderness and put a river in the desert!
Talk about fresh starts!
God wants you to live in a state of new beginnings. If he can build a road in the desert, he can wipe away your past. He gives us new mercies every morning!
When God does a new thing.
The biggest part of a new thing is the fear of the unknown. The unknown is big and scary and dark. But the truth is God goes before us. We can rest easy in the knowledge that even through the transition God will make the rough places smooth.
Did you also see that in the scripture above? “ So that you (Insert your name) will know that it is I the Lord, the God of Israel will do what “CALL YOU BY YOUR NAME“.
The change scary , however, you are not alone. God is with you preparing a new road for you.
What does the Bible say about starting new?
Transitioning from your past and your failures are made easy because of that promise in Isaiah.
He has already fought for you through the darkness. Can we shout it from the mountain tops that our God knows us by name and is willing to fight ahead of us through all the transitioning from our old self to our new self?
Our old way of life can be gone, our old feelings can be obliterated, our past in the past. Our God is a warrior for your soul. Therefore he wants you to experience a fresh start, a new beginning.
How do I embrace new beginnings?
New beginnings make us happy …at the beginning. Experiencing change can make us anxious for the old way of life. It is measurable, we know exactly what to expect, even if it is not good.
Old habits and feelings die hard. No matter that you are miserable in those feelings, there is comfort in knowing what to expect. The greatest blessing is that God gave us a gift that is here with us as we walk through the fresh starts in our life. The Holy Spirit. The scriptures give us great comfort in knowing that we can walk out of our old pain and into a new life.
Just like winter, there comes a time when it is just over and we can embrace the spring. We have to thaw out of our old way of life and into a personal walk with our savior. We have to embrace the change because sister, God has so much to offer on the other side.
God’s words are faithful and true, and we can rest in his promises.
